Antrea Tzourovits

Biography

Antrea Tzourovits (b. 1987, Danilovgrad, Serbia Montenegro) lives and works in London. His practice spans sculpture, painting, installation, video, and music. He adopts familiar materials and popular symbols within the technical handling of his work so that the imagery itself resonates with the viewer, emphasizing the poetic-philosophical content of objects and situations.

He holds an MFA in Fine Art from The Slade School of Fine Art, London (2020–2022), supported by a scholarship from NEON, and a BA in Fine Art from the Athens School of Fine Arts, Greece (2015–2020). Tzourovits was the recipient of The Kenneth Armitage Foundation Postgraduate Sculptor Prize (2022), UCL East Provost's Art Prize (2022), The Hari Art Prize (2022), and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Artist Fellowship by ARTWORKS (2022).

Recent group exhibitions include Encore – New Greek Painting (curated by Eleni Koukou, Christoforos Marinos, and Theophilos Tramboulis) at the Municipal Art Gallery of Athens; Lines in the Sand at Incubator, London; and Doomed Companions. Unsubstantial Shades (curated by Akis Kokkinos), organized by NEON and the D. Daskalopoulos Organisation for Culture and Development at the Hellenic Residency, London.

Tzourovits has presented two solo exhibitions at Kalfayan Galleries, Athens: APORIA (2020) and Counting Rests (2023).
