Biography

Corbin Shaw is a Sheffield-born artist based in Bethnal Green, London. A graduate of Central Saint Martins, his work explores British identity, folklore, and masculinity, often using subversive interventions to critique cultural narratives.

In 2023, Shaw presented his third solo show, The People Fled When the Sun Went Down, at Jealous Gallery, London, where he shredded and pulped stolen copies of The Sun newspaper to create paper for 22 original screen prints. This series exposes a long-running culture of media hypocrisy, turning the newspaper’s own headlines against it.

Notable exhibitions include Nowt as Queer as Folk at Guts Gallery (2022) and Martin Parr & Corbin Shaw at OOF Gallery (2022). His work has also featured in group exhibitions such as Designing the Beautiful Game (2023) and The World of Gazza!! (2023), where he exhibited alongside Jeremy Deller, Douglas Gordon, and Lydia Blakeley.

Beyond the art world, Shaw has collaborated with Levi’s and Women’s Aid and produced artwork for EXITCircle Zero Eight, and Perfect Magazine. His work has been featured in The FaceDazed, and The Guardian.
