Jelly Green
Jelly Green is a British-New Zealand contemporary painter working between Suffolk and London. Mentored by artist Maggi Hambling since the age of 16, her practice is rooted in a deep connection to the natural world.
Having spent time in jungles and rainforests across the globe—from Brazil to Borneo, Sri Lanka to New Zealand—Green’s large-scale paintings celebrate the grandeur of these ancient canopies while addressing the devastation caused by deforestation and wildfires. Her work captures the tension between beauty and destruction, immersing viewers in the vibrancy and fragility of these ecosystems.
Her recent exhibitions include Conflagration at Snape Maltings, Suffolk (2024), BURN at Noho Studios, London (2022), The English Garden at Somerleyton Hall (2019), Art for Cure at Bankside Gallery, London (2019), and DEVOUR at Gallery@oxo, London (2019).
